Welcome To Colchester
At Blackstone we take pride in the fact that using the very best materials and creating high-quality furniture for a global clientele, has not distorted the humble foundations in which this company was built. Rural Essex has been our home for the past few formative years, keeping a tight-knit family of designers, operators and craftsmen together in one bustling Head Quarters has served us well.
In The Heart of Essex
When the opportunity presented itself to open a brand-new flag-ship showroom in Britain’s oldest recorded town, steeped in history and known for being a front runner in engineering and manufacturing from the 17th – 20th centuries. We knew 101 High St, Colchester, was the ideal location for us, and we began planning the transformation for what was a stark and sallow space.
Above: Georgian cabinetry hand finished in Lead Colour 118, on the base cabinets and French Grey 113 on the wall. We do love drawers here, but we can design kitchens to suit everyones taste.
Having installed so many remarkable projects over the years, we were not short of ideas. Condensing these concepts to just a handful of displays was certainly challenging. As you will see when you visit our showroom, there is a harmonious theme of simplicity with a hint of boldness. Our unfailing and forever stylish, French Grey cupboards are proudly displayed in the large glazed shop front, but we were also excited to share our love for the darker, more daring colours we have in our range. The diversity of the three ranges we offer is demonstrated throughout, so it is the perfect place to get inspiration and advice on which direction to take your project…
Above: Georgian cabinetry hand finished in Basalt 221. Stand out aged brass handles and taps really give a regal finish. Glazed counter tops are a great solution for storing glassware and crockery.
As of 2017, we saw the first expansion of our brand. Seasoned and experienced, our colleague and friend, Rob Dunn, took the chance to open a dealership in neighbouring Hertfordshire. Beautifully finished, we knew this showroom would make an impression. Rob over sees all initial enquiries in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Nonetheless, whether you’re five minutes down the road, or three-thousand miles away, every project is manufactured in the same workshop, by the same team of skilled workers, and hand finished to perfection.
Above: If you are looking for a more contemporary kitchen, our handmade slab door offer this. Still incorporating our in frame technology but with a more modern feel. Finished in Obsidian 216, which is one of our Blackstone paint colours.
